It is uncanny to me that Christmas is right around the corner. In my family, we try to select one or two quality gifts for each child, rather than purchasing a variety of cheaper gifts. Family members so graciously provide most of the clothing that my children need, so we try to let the children pick out something special that they would enjoy.
My son is an absolute fan of train sets. At the local county fair, he was simply mesmerized when he saw a larger than life train set. While we don't have room for a large train set, I would love to give him a quality wooden set such as this one. (We absolutely love the quality of Melissa and Doug toys.)
I would love to get a beautiful dollhouse for my daughters to share, such as this one. I can only imagine the precious memories that my daughters would create, decorating and playing with a dollhouse.
I like Kidkraft toys for their quality and decent price.
Are you shopping early for your children? If so, where do you enjoy shopping at, and what are you hoping to get for your children? Blessings!

Wow.... how nice! :)
Thank you for sharing.

You know I think that sell those doll houses like that at Hobby Lobby, just a little bit cheaper, if you have one in your area, I could be wrong though. We started something last year, that our children would only receive 3 gifts from us(Of course we don't do Santa clause). The reason is because Jesus only received 3 gifts when he was born, and he is the reason we celebrate Christmas. Before they would get tons of presents and half of the time they would still be in unopened the time the next Christmas rolled around. That is silliness, why waste all that money and plus spoil our children in the first place.
Thanks for the links, Christine! I've not seen the Kidcraft toys. Have you seen the wooden trains that Vision Forum has on sale? (http://www.visionforum.com/search/productdetail.aspx?search=trains&productid=47376) They're a little expensive, but there's a lot of stuff included.

What a terrific tradition. I love the idea of three gifts!

That looks like a terrific train set. I have seen it cheaper at Amazon, plus the Vision Forum one is backordered. It definitely looks like a dream set for my son. Do you usually buy a few gifts per child or do you get one larger gift for them to share?Blessings!
I agree. I don't have children yet (we're trying!) but I have a small sister-in-law and a nephew and I agree. I think that it's best to give them a few high quality things rather than junk they'll forget they own.
I just saw this, Christine...of course it would need to be assembled and painted, but it seems to be a pretty good price.
