Pregnancy: 16 Weeks Update

Anastasia at the fair holding an unborn baby, which is just a little larger than the size of my baby, right now.

A model of a 16 week , unborn baby

This week, I had a wonderful pre-natal appointment with my midwife and doula. My midwife is kind enough to meet with us after my husband is able to get off of work, and that works out so much better for my family and I. I am thrilled that my doula from Anastasia's birth will be able to attend this birth, as well. She is only going to be in the area till the end of next March. I am so thankful that God orchestrated this birth so that she could be present; He is so amazing! We heard baby's heartbeat for the first time, which is always so delightful to hear. My midwife confirmed my EDD by palpating my abdomen. I always find it so amazing what midwives can discern just by using their hands! I appreciate your continued prayers for a healthy pregnancy and a blessed birth. Many blessings!

Congratulations! I love how your profile says "birth enthusiast" I have never thought to put it that way, but guess I would be one too! We have 5 so far!

That is sweet, it just reminds me of how big and developed my baby was that went to heaven. She died at 15 1/2 weeks. I do not understand how anyone could say that it is not a baby until it is born. I pray you have a strong healthy baby, congrats.

What a blessing! There was a pro-life stand like that at the homeschool convention, it was so amazing to see the tiny babies. They had little plastic ones at about 10 weeks that they were giving out for free, and Miriam still carries it around with her. Midwifery care is the best! A good friend of mine just had an HBAC today. Best wishes for your continued health and wellbeing.

What a neat opportunity to be able to show your children the model of a baby that is about the same size as their sister or brother!! Praying......

That's neat... I didn't even know they made life-size dolls that you could hold. Thanks for sharing.
