My Sweet Little Helpers

So often, I find it so easy to try to get my children to play together in another room, so I can get a few chores done. Chaos always seems to ensue when I am not right there to supervise them. So lately, I have been trying to include them even more in my chores, than before. These pictures are from Tuesday, my bathroom cleaning day. First, Lily helped me cook supper, which was Baked Potato Soup. I showed her where 1/4 of a cup was, on the measuring cup, and I told her to tell me when I had filled that line with flour. She loved putting the cut up potatoes into the pot, and stirring all the rest of the ingredients together. Even though it can slow you down a bit to have a little one learning the cooking steps with you, this is such an invaluable teaching time. Lily helped sweep both bathrooms, and cleaned the toilets. (her favorite job) Stevie helped by scrubbing the floor with a wet cloth. It was just precious to see him scrubbing with all of his might. Keeping little ones busy and training them to help, can be challenging, but is well worth it. Blessings!

I love you honey, even if you are a stinker!

LOL at Stephen's comment. I have such a hard time letting my kids help in certain areas, but I am getting better about it. I really need to get my daughter in the kitchen cooking more...well, once I feel I can cook again! Your babies are SO precious!

You are so blessed. I've found, too, that when I involve Ben rather than have him play, things go a lot smoother.
