- Use Scripture in your decor. Stencil verses on the wall or around the doorway. Write verses in calligraphy and frame and display them.
- Utilize your bathroom by placing booklets or brochures like ones you can find at Answers in Genesis and Living Waters .
- Put a colorful, high-quality book on your coffee table or end tables in your living room. Some wonderful selections can be found from Vision Forum or Answers in Genesis.
- If you have a table in your foyer, perhaps you could place on it a lamp, a vase of flowers, a guestbook, and some tracts. As your guests sign their names in your book, they may peruse a tract. This also makes it handy to give tracts to salespeople.
- When inviting guests over, follow the example of the Pent family. They would have their regular devotional time regardless of whether company was with them. They would simply invite their guests to have devotions with them. What a simple, courageous, and beautiful way to share one's faith.
- Use art in your decor that tells a tale scripturally. One beautiful example is here . Any prints, photographs, or pictures that demonstrate biblical womanhood and masculine manhood is a wonderful testament to God's established roles.
Please remember that this is just a list of a few ideas. You may glean as little or as much from it as you wish. I want to implement many of these ideas soon. The most important thing is that we make our homes as heavenly as we can to be instrumental in the way we lead others to the LORD. I thought of this list of ideas after an unsaved guest left my house recently. I felt sad that I had not done more to lead her to the Lord, even through my example. May these ideas be a blessing to you. Please send me any ideas you think of and I will add them to this list.

Those are all good ideas! I have a few framed verses around my house, but that is all I have. I need to have more around...thanks for the good ideas!
We made a point to buy some more pricey artwork with a Christian theme. We have pictures of Jesus, pictures of children praying at the table, etc throughout our living room and dining room. I try to leave Godly books or a Bible lying about. My SIL had written verses all over her walls, fridge, etc. In our school/play room we have some children's posters with like the books of the Bible and stuff. I want my home to look like a Godly home, different from the rest of the world, when a person steps in the door! That was a great list! Maybe also add some soft music or hymns in the background. I have heard of the guest book and I think that is the neatest idea. I know some people at dinner time (even with guests) take a card with a verse or question and have to answer it/talk about it.
I used to live in N.C. My husband is in the Air Force and we were in Goldsboro. Any chance you are near there? We did go to a family integrated church once or twice while there, right before we moved. I wish there were one nearer to us. The closest is 2 hours away!
May I suggest a website for putting Scripture or words of encouragement up in your home? It's called wisedecor.com. (No, I don't work for them!) They will provide you with any quote, any size, any font, any color in a sticker form. It is already sized, you just stick it on. If you ever decide to repaint, it is easily removed. I have used them alot in our home and I highly recommend them!
Fanning Family-
Thank you so much for your recommendation. I definitely am not brave enough to stencil words on the wall. This looks like a great idea. I wonder if Wise Decor ever has sales?
Yes, they do have monthly sales, I believe. The company is owned by a fine Christian couple who are friends of ours. It can be expensive, but we've found that these last as long we live in a home and we get more comments and more interesting conversations from this small touch to our home. Worth saving for!!
